How to stop cracking the dashboard of a car

The sun’s ultraviolet rays are not only harmful to the outside of your vehicle, but they also damage the interior, including the carpet, seats and even the dashboard. Over time, sunlight causes the dashboard to crack due to heat, or vinyl, leather or other material from drying out. Heat also causes the components of plastic board lose their original color and deteriorate. However, you can do some things to protect the dashboard and prevent cracking without the need to take it to a service center.

Instructions

  1. Mix in a bowl 1 tablespoon of soap for washing cars and half gallon (1.9 L) of warm water. Stir the mixture with a cloth or a soft lint free cloth.
  2. Drain the excess and clean the board thoroughly with a damp cloth or rag to remove dust and dirt. Dry the dashboard with a cloth or a clean lint free cloth.
  3. Apply 2 teaspoons of leather and vinyl protector a cloth or a clean lint-free cloth. Rub the board with cloth or tissue dampened with guard.
  4. Fold in half cloth or rag that you used to dry the dashboard and removes excess protector board.
  5. Buy a cover board specifically designed for the make and model of your car. The cover comes with Velcro straps. Remove the protective caps located in the back of the Velcro strips, then place the strips evenly around the edges of the instrument panel.
  6. Place the cover on the dashboard and press onto the Velcro straps. Board siding comes with holes for air conditioning, heating and ventilation of the car. The cover should fit snugly around the vents.
  7. Leave the cover in place to protect the board and stop cracking or developing cracks.

Tips and Warnings

  • If you cannot find a cover for the dashboard of your car, place two or more hand towels or a small savannah bed on the board to prevent the sun from penetrating and damaging. Place the towels or savanna where it does not operation of the vehicle.
